"the creation of great wines comes from the unique interaction between the place, the vintage and the human factor"

Wines from this vineyard, owned and managed by the Burk and Espinosa families, have fascinated me for many years. Located in the heart of the Santa Maria Valley, these low-yielding vines, over 16 years old, grow on a sandy plateau.

This terroir creates Pinot Noir of fragrance and fine texture that’s reminiscent of fine Burgundies. My friendship with Vineyard Manager Gary Burk adds a special dimension to my experiences with this vineyard.
